Regular oil changes are essential for the health of your GS bike’s engine. Here's how to do it yourself without missing a step.

Gathering Tools and Supplies

Before starting, collect the correct oil type, filter, drain pan, and basic tools.

Check your GS manual for specifications and quantities needed.

Draining the Old Oil

Warm up the engine briefly, then safely lift the bike and drain oil into your container.

Remove the drain plug carefully and allow it to empty completely.

Replacing the Oil Filter

Unscrew the old oil filter and replace it with a new one, applying a small amount of oil to the gasket.

Ensure hand-tight installation to avoid leaks.

Refilling With Fresh Oil

Pour the recommended oil gradually, checking the level regularly with the dipstick.

Avoid overfilling to prevent engine damage.
